Like the work of Massimo Ricci, the artist who has been able to render the beauty of this wine on its label, the canvas of the Scagliola family has been their vineyard estate for four generations. Not only a profession inherited from their parents, but a vocation and passion to render new expression from the picturesque landscape where these artisans work. Calosso of Asti, atop the Monferrato hills in southern Piedmont, is where since 1939 the careful and loving hands of the Scagliola family have worked the grape.
Scagliola is known for its Moscato, rightfully named, "Primo Bacio". With its delicate aroma and mouth filling sweet fruit flavors, winemaker Maggiorino Scagliola in trying to describe the experience says, "it is like..your first kiss". Indeed, the first taste of this wine will leave you with an unforgettable memory and sure to put a smile on your face.
Although the producer is most infatuated with the Moscato, Scagliola exhibits a collection of Barbera to celebrate Piedmont's indigenous grape.
The Scagliola name embodies the "quality over quantity" philosophy, with great respect for nature and the biological balance of the vines.
