The latest in our collection of private barrel whiskeys is this special release from Heaven’s Door, a craft distillery co-created with Bob Dylan. Heaven’s Door celebrates art and craft, and each bottle features a depiction of iron gates handcrafted by Dylan in his studio, Black Buffalo Ironworks.
In March 2022, a select group of members of our own Another Dram Society (ADS) met with Heaven’s Door Whiskey Specialist Matt Babice to taste a selection of exclusive HD releases. From these limited production barrels, we chose the perfect, balanced expression to be bottled as our next private label release: Passion Vines ADS Sel. #1.
Tasting notes: We chose this barrel to help us toast to summer 2022 – it’s the perfect warm weather whiskey! Sweet, spicy aromas lead into vibrant tropical fruit notes. Pineapple emerges on the mid-palate and mingles with touches of cherry and citrus. The finish is sweet and savory with notes of baking spice and a subtle complexity. If a dash of water is your preference, it integrates nicely! The finish leaves you craving something grilled, and this bottle is the perfect companion to barbecued foods and campfires.
